More than $17,000 has been raised by students at Robert Louis Stevenson School in California to construct a girls’ dormitory for an ARK school in Boko village, Tanzania
A group of high school students in California, determined to make a difference, found a way to do just that. After hearing about The ARK Foundation and their work to educate orphans and other vulnerable children, Alex Wilbur and a group of other students from Robert Louis Stevenson School were immediately compelled to action. The students had no way of knowing that selling tee shirts, baked goods, as well as other small fundraising endeavors would amount to more than $17,000 in contributions. The money is being used to build a new and much-needed girls dormitory at the school in Boko village, Tanzania.
In July, Alex Wilbur and her family had the opportunity to visit the school in Boko. Although thousands of miles, different languages and cultures separate them, the students in California and those in Tanzania share the same desire for a quality education.
